Description

Well Established, Highly Successful, Privately Owned, Engineering Company who Design, Fabricate, Install and Commission, Large Capital Projects within the Metal Processing Sector are Seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.  The Successful Applicant will Join a Professional Team of Engineers, Involved in Innovative Science and Engineering 

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is Responsible for the Interpretation of Technical Specification Requirements, Engineering General and Detailed Design, CAD Modelling and Production of All Relevant Technical Documentation  

ROLE

  • Competent and Effective Design of Systems/Equipment
  • Application of Professional Design Skills, Using Latest Release Licensed AutoDesk Inventor and Vault 3D Modelling Software
  • Ensuring Safe, Orderly Storage of Requisite Drawing Files
  • Designing All Types of Equipment and Systems for Vacuum, Thermal, Pressure, Water, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, High pressure Gas and Induction Heating
  • Awareness of Pressure Standards and Directives and Critical Pressure Safety Systems
  • Production of Bills of Materials – Containing Sub-Assemblies, Components and Purchased Items
  • Application of Design Office Practices and Sound Understanding of Standard Procedures
  • Actively Participate in Problem Solving Tasks with the Design Office Team
  • Actively Engage in Technical Knowledge Building Tasks and Training Requirements

REQUIRED

  • Degree or HND in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering
  • 5 Years+ Industrial Experience with a Sound Understanding of Engineering Principles and Relevant Standards
  • Good Working Knowledge and Proficiency of Autodesk Inventor 3D or Solid Works
  • Ability to Design for Vacuum, Pressure, Water, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, High Pressure Gas and Thermal Technologies
  • Ability to Calculate and Assess Engineering Problems, Using Hand Calculations and Software Analysis (CFD and FEA)
  • Control and Instrumentation Knowledge or Experience is Beneficial
  • Combination of Technical Experience, People and Business Skills and Meticulous Attention to Detail
  • Demonstrable Perseverance, Patience and Ability to Work to Pre-Agreed Schedules
  • Full/Current/Clean Driving Licence is Essential, as is a Current British Passport and the Ability and Willingness to Occasionally Travel Globally for Short Durations
