Mechanical Design Engineer

Well Established, Highly Successful and Respected Company, Located in West Kent, Specialising in the Manufacture of Bespoke and Complex Solutions to Satisfy Customer Needs, are Seeking to Expand their Team with an Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be Engaged in the Full Design Process for New Products from Concept Designs to Detailed Manufacturing Drawings, Material Specification/Selection as well as Responsibility for Detailing Manufacturing and Assembly Procedures with Consideration to Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Systems and Techniques

Role

• Managing End to End Design Projects
• Design 3D Models
• Client/Sales Team Liaison to Identify Design Requirements
• Produce Detailed Engineering/Manufacturing Drawings with BOM’s
• Produce Standard Operating Procedures to Detail Manufacturing and Assembly Methods
• Produce Technical Documents, Reports and Presentations for Internal and External Use

Required Experience/Qualifications (Essential)

• Relevant Engineering Degree in the Field of Mechanical Design Engineering
• Strong Experience using 3D CAD Software (Ideally AutoDesk Inventor or SolidWorks)
• Full Lifecycle Design Experience - Concept Design, 2D/3D Modelling, Engineering Drawings, Designing for Manufacture and Maintenance and Design Improvement Considerations
• Tolerance Analysis, Including Manufactured Parts and Assembly Tolerance Stack Up
• Lean Manufacturing - 5S or Six Sigma
• Use of ERP and/or MRP Systems - SAGE, Oracle, Progress Plus
• Project Management
• Continuous Improvement Systems and Techniques
• Strong Working Knowledge of MS Office Suite

Required Experience/Qualifications (Desirable)

• Working in an ISO 9001 Accredited Engineering Company
• Project Management - Prince 2, PMP
• Working with Precision Sheet Metal and Machined Products
• Working with CAM Software to Produce Machine Programs

Remuneration

• Basic Salary of £40K Per Annum
