Description

Working as part of a leading API Manufacturing unit, this role is to support this growing business within their Environmental Health and Safety department.

This site is an R&D space and has a process chemistry, analytical chemist and drug discover team all within this premises.

The EHS team at this site provide support and advice to make sure that the business is in compliance with EHS legislation as well as company policies etc.  Due to the nature and responsibility of this role the successful candidate will have to have at least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing and production role and have worked in a highly regulated environment before.

ROLE

  • Provide administrative support by completing projects in support of EHS manager as well as implementing systems, policies etc
  • Prepare compliance data
  • Review accidents and incidents as well as near-miss events to manage CAPAs
  • Assist with Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans and procedures maintenance
  • EHS training
  • Maintain EHS documentation
  • Identify continuous improvement areas and work with departments and the EHS manager to implement the corrective actions.
  • Provide daily EHS guidance to staff and contractors
  • Develop internal EHS systems (identifying current possible gaps etc)

REQUIRED (Essential)

  • Over 3 years’ experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (Occupational Health and Safety or IOSH Managing Safety)
  • Previous responsibility for EHS Compliance
  • Broad understanding of UK EHS Compliance requirements and practices in a manufacturing environment

REQUIRED (Preferred)

  • City & Guilds or higher, ideally in an engineering discipline
