Laboratory Technician

Laboratory Technician required to work in the Quality Control Laboratory of a well-established, very successful manufacturer and Global supplier of specialist high quality anti-corrosion, sealing and waterproofing products

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager the Laboratory Technician will ensure that the quality of raw materials and finished product meets the agreed standards and that the quality systems eg ISO 9001 are strictly adhered to

ROLE

• Sampling and testing of prescribed raw material deliveries to ensure compliance with specified and agreed quality standards
• Testing of finished product to ensure compliance with specified and agreed quality standards
• In process inspection and testing and routine manufacturing area ‘walk throughs’
• Monitoring of emissions and recording of measurements
• Instrument calibration
• Maintenance of clear and accurate records, both hard copy and electronic and to make same available in a current status at all times
• Investigation and resolution of any customer quality concerns or queries
• Conducting of internal audits in conformance with the company’s established ISO 9000 registration and accreditation in support of the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Policy
• Maintaining the QC Laboratory environment and equipment/instruments in clean and tidy condition
• Provision of technical support to colleagues and customers

REQUIRED

• Good standard of Secondary Education, Specifically Maths and English, (Science would be beneficial)
• Disciplined and responsible approach to duties and responsibilities
• Capable and comfortable in enforcing compliance with the established quality standards and procedures
• Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels
• Good communications skills, written and spoken
• Effective time manager
